Use of technology in the classroom can enhance teaching and learning. Use of the Internet can generate a sense of community among learners, whether they are in the same class or separated by thousands of miles. www.4teachers.org has a collection of "Teacher Testimonies" about using technology for teaching and learning, some in English and some in Spanish. Here's a good way to learn about what works and what doesn't.

The Colorado Power Educators Project is an outreach and dissemination page reflecting the best efforts of Colorado teachers who have participated in the Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT) grant program. The site contains descriptions, planning documents, presentations, lesson plans, student products, and evaluations.

If you try to separate "computer class" from the rest of the curriculum, students might learn "computer", but the real goal should be to teach them to use it as a tool, just like pencil and paper, crayons, calculators, and so forth.
